CONCENTRIC CIRCLES” STAR SUPPORTERS
                  By: Janet Harold

The LMGA wants you to know about our generous Concentric Circle sponsors:

The HOLLYWOOD TEAMSTERS, LOCAL 399 unionized location managers in the western United States in 1978 and handles all their professional employment contract issues. TEAMSTERS LOCAL 399 was also a generous supporter of “In The Zone”, a creative photographic exhibition which led to the formal organization of the LMGA.  Ed Duffy, 399 Business Agent for Location Managers, says the LMGA raises the awareness of location managers in general and their importance to the entertainment industry. Duffy, who also sits on 399's Executive Board, said the union cannot necessarily dedicate as much time and effort to a specific project as the LMGA can.  In working together, TEAMSTERS LOCAL 399 and the LMGA have found an optimal synergy.

David Hatfield, co-owner of CAST LOCATIONS, firmly believes in supporting location professionals in whatever creative endeavor they espouse. So when the LMGA came to CAST seeking support for the “Concentric Circles” project, David and his mother Annie generously donated. Annie started this family business in 1980 and David has worked at Cast for some 20 years. One of the oldest location service in Los Angeles, CAST LOCATIONS originated the 'individual house folders'  format that so many of us use daily to pitch locations to producers and production designers.

LOS ANGELES CENTER STUDIOS built a studio/backlot around the re-use of Unocal Oil headquarters in downtown L.A.   In 8 short years, LACS has provided  practical locations, production offices and sound stages to many commercials, TV series, and feature films.  The office of  FilmLA Inc. , the main Los Angeles area film permitting agency, is also on site.  Ken Johnson, a partner of LACS, calls location professionals the unsung heroes of the production process and knows the very tough job of finding a great location. Johnson, has worked with location professionals for the past 20 years. He claims,“They craft the look of the film from the get-go.”

MEYLER AND COMPANY LOCATIONS is a location service known for its distinctive architectural properties in Southern California. In addition to  supporting “Concentric Circles”, the company also connected the exhibit to Steve Shaw and the Beady Minces Gallery. Owner Catherine Meyler believes in helping the professionals with whom she has worked for years.  Catherine has an exceptional eye for interesting architecture, and she thought the newly built Venice loft / gallery would provide a fabulous backdrop for the opening exhibit.
